Title:  Gravitomagnetism for Low-Frequency Gravitational Wave Detection

Abstract:  Gravitational wave sources span an enormous range of frequencies, from nHz to kHz. As gravitational wave astronomy enters a new era, the future will benefit from a diverse network of detector technologies operating across this spectrum. This will be similar to how multiwavelength observations have transformed electromagnetic astronomy.

In this talk, we will explore a path toward detecting gravitational waves at frequencies below the micro-Hz using observatories in the inner Solar System. A major challenge for such detectors is Newtonian noise, also known as gravity gradient noise, caused primarily by Solar System bodies, particularly asteroids. We put forward the gravitomagnetic sector of general relativity as a new way to mitigate this background and open a path toward gravitational wave observations in this unexplored frequency regime.
