The Astronomy Conversations program is a unique collaboration with the Adler Planetarium that integrates current science (and scientists) into museum programming. Through the use of visualizations that make astrophysical research and associated instrumentation accessible to the public, scientists engage in dialogue with museum visitors about their current work.
Conversations take place in Adler's Space Visualization Laboratory (SVL), which is both a working laboratory with state-of-the-art hardware and software and a public gallery. Sessions for new presenters are held twice a year to introduce them to the SVL and Adler Planetarium and provide core communications training.
