Astronomy Conversations

Astronomy Conversations at the Adler Planetarium

Astronomy Conversations is an outreach program held multiple times per week at the Adler Planetarium, one of the three museums on Museum Campus in Chicago. In Astronomy Conversations, scientists in astrophysics and related fields ranging from graduate students to tenured faculty engage with museum guests through informal conversations and discuss cutting-edge research. Astronomy Conversations takes place in the Adler Planetarium’s Space Visualization Laboratory, which boasts hundreds of stunning astronomical simulations and visualizations that speakers have control over. Having practicing scientists interact with museum guests in this space helps to disseminate cutting-edge astronomical research to the general public while adding a crucial human element to scientific research.
