- The Community Engagement Working Group is comprised of graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, staff, and faculty from the Astronomy and Astrophysics Department and KICP aiming to build relationships with organizations and the community in the neighborhoods surrounding the University.

- Soapbox Science is a novel public outreach platform for promoting women scientists and the science they do.
- Dark Matter Day provides a resource kit for planning an annual event, such as public lecture series, workshop, or art exhibit celebrating dark matter on or around October 31.
