Background

My research interests are non-thermal processes in galaxy clusters: cosmic ray acceleration, magnetic field generation/amplification and turbulence.

I got my PhD at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, working on a spectral cosmic ray model for cosmological simulations which I used to study radio relics and diffuse synchrotron emission in the local cosmic web.

At UChicago I will work with Damiano Caprioli on the acceleration of cosmic rays in structure formation shocks in the intra-cluster medium. We will use these results to improve the modeling of CR physics in simulations of large-scale structure formation.
