Background
Melanie Archipley, PhD June 2024, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Melanie is originally from the Western U.S. and got her undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a triple-major in Physics, Astrophysics, and German. For her PhD, she led the analysis of SPT-3G data searching for emissive extragalactic sources, compiling a catalog of over 25,000 sources, including over 10,000 candidate high-redshift dusty sources. At Chicago, Melanie will lead a team creating data products from SPT-3G for cosmological and astrophysical analyses.
