Eduardo Rozo, University of Arizona, "Unlocking Halo Dynamics as a Guiding Principle for Modeling Large Scale Structure"

From the point of view of a host halo, galaxies come in two flavors: 1) halo members, and 2) infalling galaxies. This dichotomy is endemic to the dynamical structure of halos. We argue that, relative to standard halo-model approaches, adequately modeling this dichotomy significantly simplifies large scale structure models, while simultaneously enabling new cosmological measurements, and opening new windows for first-principles modeling of large scale structure.
