Manoj Kaplinghat (University of California, Irvine) "Self-interacting dark matter"
Large self-interaction cross section for dark matter is predicted in a wide range of particle physics models, and it leads to qualitatively new phenomena on small scales. After a brief theoretical motivation for self-interacting dark matter (SIDM) models, I will discuss their key predictions and successes, and highlight some promising tests.
