Christoph Welling (Friedrich-Alexander University) "Finding EeV neutrinos with RNO-G"
This summer saw the construction of the first detector stations for the Radio Neutrino Observatory Greenland (RNO-G), which will search for astrophysical neutrinos in the EeV range by the radio signals that are produced when they interact in the Greenlandic ice sheet. RNO-G is expected to achieve the best sensitivity in this energy range to date. However, most neutrino signals will likely be detected just above the noise threshold, which makes reconstructing them challenging. I will present how RNO-G and the radio technique work and how neutrino properties can be reconstructed from the recorded radio signals.
