Juan Estrada (Fermilab) "Search for dark matter with single photon counting detectors"
I will discuss the status of ongoing dark matter searches, and focus on the efforts looking for low mass dark matter. Will introduce the charge-coupled device (CCD) as a tool for direct dark matter search, and the skipper-CCD as an electron counting device ideal for detecting low energy electron recoils. Will present the results of the current experiments using skipper-CCD sensors, and the plans for the future large 30 gigapixel CCD array for dark matter.
