KICP colloquium: Maria Spiropulu (Caltech)

3:30–4:30 pm ERC 161

Maria Spiropulu (Caltech) "Traversable wormhole dynamics on a quantum processor"

I will discuss our work ("Traversable wormhole dynamics on a quantum processor", Nature) on interrogating a two-dimensional gravity dual quantum system on-chip, and implications on future exploration of this type. I will also address comments/objections raised recently in the literature.

Traversable wormhole dynamics on a quantum processor - Nature. A sparsified SYK model is constructed using learning techniques and the corresponding traversable wormhole dynamics are observed, representing a step towards a program for studying quantum gravity in the laboratory.
