Jeffrey McMahon (University of Chicago)  "Recent Results from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope and The Future of Cosmic Microwave Background Measurements"

Measurements of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) provide abundant opportunities for discovery in cosmology, astronomy, and fundamental physics. In this talk, I discuss the broad science enabled by CMB measurements highlighting the impact they have and will have on our understanding of the primordial universe, on constraints on new light relativistic particles, and in addressing ongoing cosmological tensions. In this double feature, I will present results from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope including our just released lensing measurements and cosmological constraints; and discuss the status and outlook for the next two generations of CMB experiments: Simons Observatory and CMB-S4.
