Laura Mersini-Houghton (University of North Carolina) "The Origin of Our Universe"

Did our universe have a special beginning? Is our universe fine-tuned? And, is it anthropically selected to allow for life to arise within it? In this talk I will argue that the answer to all these questions is negative. Instead, if we expand our thinking to the existence of a multiverse, we can derive the answer to our origin question. Furthermore, using quantum entanglement , we can make testable predictions for structures beyond our horizon and before the big bang, imprinted from the earliest moments, in our sky.
