KICP Colloquium: Katerina Chatziioannou (Caltech)

3:30–4:30 pm ERC 161

Host: Robert Wald

Katerina Chatziioannou (Caltech)

About speaker: Katerina works on gravitational wave astrophysics and using data from ground-based and space-based gravitational wave detectors to study the properties of black holes and neutron stars. She is particularly interested in the properties of neutron stars and the states of matter in their extremely dense cores, as well as tests of the theory of gravity.

Katerina obtained her Ph.D from Montana State University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics before joining Flatiron’s CCA as a Flatiron Research Fellow.
