Hillary Child, Principal at Boston Consulting Group (PhD ’19, UChicago Physics)
Hillary Child completed her PhD in physics at UChicago in 2019, focusing on computational cosmology. After thinking about career options from academia to data science to foreign service, she landed in strategy consulting and stayed in Chicago. She has been at BCG since 2020, where she uses data to solve problems across industries including food & beverage, retail, travel, auto, and most recently agriculture. She will share what led her in this direction, what daily life looks like, and some of her most interesting projects.
