Maya Mallaby-Kay "Probing the Large Scale Structure of our Universe with the Atacama Cosmology Telescope"

As light travels from the furthest reaches of the universe to our telescopes, it encounters clusters of galaxies, hot gas, and the overarching large-scale structure of our universe. These encounters alter the paths and energy levels of the photons, enabling us to use this light from the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) to learn about the earliest stages of our universe and the large-scale structure we observe today.  Maps from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope, combined with observations from complementary surveys, can be used to probe the growth and structure of our universe. In this talk, I will present results from my thesis that focus on understanding this large scale structure through the lens of CMB observations.
