Title:  The Past, Present, and Future of the Deep Universe

Abstract:  Results from James Webb Space Telescope have challenged our prior views of galaxy formation and supermassive black hole growth at the earliest cosmic epochs. Our knowledge of the distant universe has evolved rapidly since the launch of JWST, and while exciting new discoveries continue unabated, with the initial findings firmly in hand we can assess what has been learned. This talk will discuss how our ideas about the first billion years of cosmic history have changed, highlight the areas where JWST will continue to revolutionize our understanding of the very beginnings of galaxy formation and evolution, and focus on contributions of the JWST Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey (JADES) team to the field.
