“We’re pleased that the South Pole Telescope is able to play a key role in the Event Horizon Telescope’s reach around the globe as it continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible with this technique,” said John Carlstrom, the director of the South Pole Telescope and the Subramanyan Chandrasekhar Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago. “This is the result of a lot of work from a lot of people, and it’s wonderful to see such interesting science results beginning to come out.”
